   I have a big stash on hand that I assembled over the years from various thrift shops or cheap clothing stores (TJ Maxx, Ross, etc.). It’s hard luck to find pre-made ones that aren’t sexy, punny, or trendy. You can put together a quick pirate costume with baggy pants or ragged shorts, a lace-up shirt, a bandana, an eye patch, and some jewelry. You can make a gypsy with an off-the-shoulder sweater, a broomstick skirt, a scarf, heavy makeup, and jewelry. A cowgirl is blue jeans, a flannel shirt, a tan vest, a cowboy hat, boots, and a rope. A witch is a black dress, a witch’s hat, high heels, and some exaggerated makeup.

   I agree that most costumes at the stores are pretty sexy which is ok but it may not be what you are looking for.Have you tried your local thrift store? They don’t actually have costumes,( although they may have some used ones in stock) but if you look and are a little bit creative you can make your own.When I was growing up I never had a store bought costume.My mom always had them My mom made everything from a cave woman to Marie Antoinette (white cotton batten wig and all) to a Spanish senorita. Many of her costumes won prizes at the school halloween party.The most amazing thing is that my mom sewed everything by hand ( she did not have a sewing machine) You may find some websites for making costumes if you do a google search.Good luck

   Where are the "regular" halloween costumes for adults?
   I am going to a Halloween party and I need a costume or costume ideas. Everything that I have seen is some type of sexy adult themed costume. I don’t want to be a sexy anything. Just a regular costume.
