I heard that if you cut an apple in half you see a 5 pointed star, well
I tried that and I didn't see the star, why is the apple a strong symbol of Halloween besides the pumpkin?
Happy early Halloween.
The connection between apples and the originally Christian Hallowe'en is lost. There is no historical evidence linking it to any supposed pagan practices, the stories about celtic customs are recent inventions.
So the likely connection is simply the time of year - end of October, tail end of the apple harvest.
To see the star, you have to cut the apple in half across the middle - not down through the stalk.

p.s. what should i be for halloween i wanna be a mummy but costumes are too expensive for that any ideas for what to be or how to make a mummy costume?
You can have the party from 8pm to 10pm if your parents allow you . Also if you have a dollar store near you you can stop by there. They usually have alot of cool things for partys that will not cost too much money. Also if you have a back yard and can use it you can have a haunted savanger hunt and hide things around the yard...like fake eyes, spiders, pumpkins, etc. You can also get decorations at the local dollar store and party supplies like plates cups and all. As for food you can have like chips and pretzels and inside the bowls you can add some fake eyes, spiders, worms,to kinda give it a spooky look. I hope that helps you out some if you need some more ideas...let me know.

I need a couple of ideas. we need 2 different ones. one set for a group of 3, 2 women and a man, and also another for a couple (male and female). we were thinking 2 girls be sexy school girls and the man be the headmaster, and for the other couple the cowgirl and cowboy, or prisoner and guard. We want something thats easy and cheap to make but creative, sexy not slutty. Were going to an adult halloween party, were theres prizes for the best costumes. HELP!
If the male is willing to dress as a woman, the 2 girls could be girl scouts or brownies and the male could be their leader.
You could be the Clintons. Hillary, Bill and Chelsea.
If you all got red bathing suits you could be Baywatch life guards.
An obvious one would be have the guy be a pimp and the girls be his hos, but that probably borders on the slutty.
For the two person costume, one year my boyfriend and I went as Santa and his elf. You could also be be a witch (the male) and the female could be a black cat.
Another idea for either the group of two or three would be for the male to be Hugh Hefner in a bathrobe and pajamas and the girl(s) be playboy bunnies.

i know it's far off but my friends and i are having a huge halloween party this year. What are some the main supplies needed to have a really great party?
Well tons of food should be first up on your planning list, followed by more food then even more food. Then, drinks. Plenty of pop, punch, bottled water, and anything else your guests are thirsty for. You may want to start thinking now about a theme. A theme could be as vague as a decade like the fifties or the eighties or as specific as the French court of Marie Antoinette. Think about where you're going to have the party (inside is better!) and then go to that space and start envisioning the decorations. Stand in the doorway and see where your eyes go first, that will be your guests first impression of the party. Do your eyes go right to the back wall? Maybe that would be a good place to completely cover a wall in faux spider webs dotted with plastic spiders. What about lighting? Green bulbs? Or black light? And put some thought into what your guest will do during the party. If they are the type to mix and mingle then set up some group seating around the space. If they are a dance crowd, make sure there is a dance floor area and some great music. However, if you're concerned that you're going to have a bunch of bored people standing around looking at their watches then plan some games. You might feel a little silly announcing a game of charades, but once someone has to get up and act out a Halloween themed phrase like "Trick or Treat" or "Haunted House" competitive juices will get flowing and everyone will get into it fast.
Its never to early to start planning a great party, and its never to early to start budgeting for one either so start setting aside funds now. Have fun and be safe and until then, Happy Haunting.
